LessBoring 01: Javier Marti

A podcast on less boring/more epic life

I’m starting a podcast on THE problem: the apparent absence of epic yet achievable life goals, a.k.a. even Andrew Tate is bored and even Bronze Age Pervert does not know the solution.

Occasionally I will do also email interviews.

Everybody has a podcast, yes.

Regardless, the chief theme: less boring and less frustrating, and more meaningful and more epic, life.

Esp. if and how philosophy or other fields can help. The guests need not be philosophers. And even philosophers should make use of other knowledge. Also, the guests need not be academic or famous. They need to be sharp and interesting.

The title (LessBoring) is an obvious hint to LessWrong, yes.

My first guest is Javier Marti, a hypnotherapist, AI engineer, and prepper for the new AI economy.

See his hypnotherapy site and his new AI for analyzing personality from a single photo of someone’s face (highly recommended).

We met in person in May 5, 2026 and discussed:

  • cures for modern boredom: how highly competent people feel stuck; danger of shallow entertainment; and the psychological roadmap to building an epic life,

  • Andrew Tate: maybe his chronic boredom with wealth and women stems from a lack of imagination and even from low self-esteem,

  • why hypnosis works: it is one tool among several to access the subconscious and neutralize low self-esteem or deep trauma,

  • why talk therapy often fails: it may well keep you stuck at the surface level,

  • mechanics of dating and attraction: how men fail at honest signaling and filtering for compatibility; and how to hack your own mind to eliminate approach anxiety,

  • private military training: the benefits of learning tactical survival, firearms safety, and hand-to-hand combat,

  • surviving the AI takeover: what skills to learn and how to position yourself before machines replace humans in the workforce.

Comments welcome, both in agreement and disagreement, but please tell why you agree or disagree.

Nt. The music track is “Long Long Silk Bridge” by Susumu Yokota.
